Theatre Council 2023-2024!

A huge thank you to all who applied for Theatre Council for the 2023-2024! I've said it before, but I'll say it again (and I mean it) - y'all made this a very very hard decision. There were many great ideas and applicants this year.

Listed below is the Theatre Council list for the 2023-2024 school year:

President – Ruby Gardner
Vice President – Willa Grimmer
Secretary – Addison Scarborough
Historian – Tessa Osborne
Publicity/Activities – Kalaya Thomas
Financial/Fundraising Chair – Kate Eberhardt
Improv Chair – Kassie Holt
Tech Rep – Jaycey Bennion
Sophomore Rep – Wesley Stueber

Congrats to our new council! I ask that all members of the Alta Theatre Family support their peers in this decision.  If you did not make it onto council this time, know you are still amazing and a lot of great candidates applied.  If you would like more direct feedback on what to work on in the future, please feel free to email me over the next week.

For all new AND old council members, there will be a short meeting Friday May 5th) at 12:30pm in the Green Room of the PAC.  Additionally, all NEW council members (and returning) need to plan and meet right after school on Monday, May 8th to be measured for sweaters.  If you are a returning member, BRING YOUR SWEATER THAT DAY! I will have Ruby Gardner reach out and make a group chat for the new council members.  Thank you all and I love you (appropriately)! :)

State Competition Information 2023

I apologize this is coming in a bit later than planned - I typed things out on Saturday and realized today it didn't publish.  Here are the schedules for Thursday (One-Acts) and Saturday (IEs).

Our schedule for Thursday is:

 - Called out of class at 11:05am to eat lunch (bring a sack lunch or go grab something, but you only have a half hour)
 - In the green room by 11:35am and boarding bus to leave by 11:45am and head to Provo High School for competition.
 - We compete at 3pm sharp
 - Head back to Alta at 6pm and return at 6:30-40pm.  Parents, please be there to get any students who need a ride by 6:30pm.

Our tentative Saturday schedule right now is:
Saturday, April 15th at Maple Mountain High School
51 N Spanish Fork Parkway, Spanish Fork, UT 84660
Meet at Alta High School at 7:15am and leave by 7:20am
8:00am arrive at Maple Mountain - get competition numbers and find rooms
9:00 am Round 1
10:15 am Round 2
11:30 am Round 3
12-1:30pm  --> LUNCH - there will be food trucks there for students, but I cannot guarantee things for dietary needs. I would suggest students bring water bottles and snacks, plus money for the trucks OR a sack lunch.  There is nowhere near the school to eat outside of the food trucks.
The following times are estimates:
1:30ish Medals Rounds
3:00ish Awards

Return to Alta will likely be between 3:45-4:45pm.  I can not be more specific at this time as it is dependent on how long tabbing and totaling takes.  We will have students text when we are leaving Spanish Fork and again when passing Lehi.

Thank you to all of the students and parents who have given time to our efforts toward Region and State.  You are seen and appreciated!
