MUSICAL 2023 Announcement!

 Hey Alta Theatre Fam!

I wanted to take a second to thank people for the positive response to our Fall Musical, "Mean Girls!"  We could not be more excited for this incredible opportunity to be a premier school and tell such a fun story with a powerful, needed message of kindness. I have posted the announcement video below in case people who weren't there want to see the clues explained and my thoughts in choosing this show.  We look forwarded to your continued support this Fall!

Also, for students who want to know, we will be tapping in this show, so you'll want to brush up on some basics if you want to be a featured dancer or lead.  We WILL be offering one or two "Tap Days," where you can come learn basics if you aren't familiar.  You can also google and find great videos on YouTube! In casting, I will be looking for honesty in comedic quick switches and clear tactics used.  I encourage everyone to take a voice class over the summer to polish your audition piece and get comfortable before Fall with that process.  I am so excited and rooting for everyone, but first... TAKE A BREAK and enjoy your summer! :)

Shakespeare IE Auditions!

 Hi everyone,

Individual Event (IE) auditions for next year's Shakespeare Team are two weeks away!

Auditions will be held after school in the PAC Green Room on Thursday, 5/18.  Please sign up on the audition sheet posted on the call board outside of the Green Room.

For this audition, please prepare EITHER a 60 second monologue OR a 2 minute scene with 1-2 partners (total of 2-3 people in your scene).  Your audition piece must come from a Shakespeare play.  While our preference is ALWAYS to see a memorized audition, I understand that working with Shakespeare text may be something with which you have limited experience, so if you need to have your lines printed out and with you, you may have that with you in your audition.  Again, memorized is always the preference, but we want you to feel confidant so that you can present your best audition. :)

Auditions to be part of our Shakespeare Ensemble scene will take place at the very beginning of next school year.

If you are selected for an IE, there will be a mandatory meeting on Monday, 5/22 in the Green Room from 3 - 3:30pm.

Before your audition, please carefully read through the entire audition packet!  You will need to fill out and bring pages 5 & 10 of the packet with you to auditions.  You can find a digital copy of the packet below and printed copies will be available on the call board within the next couple school days.

I know that we are all in the middle of finishing up this year, but I am SO excited to get to work with you on Shakespeare next year!
