HARD CANDY Cast List:
Thank you to all who auditioned! You are all very talented (as usual it was very difficult to choose this cast because you are all AWESOME)! Keep an eye on the callboard for upcoming one-act audition information!
Congrats to those of you who have been cast. I have posted brief character descriptions for you to view. We will be having our first read-through this Friday at 3 p.m. PLEASE pick up your script from me before then so that you can begin to get memorized!

Linda: The Receptionist. Linda is the only character that we see throughout the entire play. As the show begins she is a young, excited teenager who is over-anxious about her job. She is bubbly and energetic. As the years go by, Linda becomes more and more bitter and resentful towards her job. Her enthusiasm turns into apathy and frustration.
Adam: Adam is a young (in his 20s) professional who is good at his job. He was head of his fraternity in college and no doubt was very popular.
Bob: Bob is in his early 20s. This is the first job he has ever applied for. He was in the same fraternity as Adam. He is somewhat of an idiot, and obviously not qualified for the job.
Cindy: Cindy is a very intelligent, secure woman (30-40 yrs. old). She speaks many languages and has many degrees. She is very intense and determined.
Dave: Dave is extremely insecure and desperate for a job. He would be willing to pay his way to get the job. He stops at nothing to get the job, even if it means giving up his first-born child.
Emily: Emily will not take no for an answer. She is incredibly intelligent and intimidating. She gets the job by tricking her employer.
Fred: Fred is considered the “Ladies Man”. His suave persona and looks get him the job, while also getting him into trouble.
Gail: Gail is a gypsy-like woman (in her 30-40s). She is very unprofessional and tries to get the job by using magic. When that does not work she resorts to blackmail.
Harry: Harry is an ex-military man who will use his militant persistence to get the job (in his 40s). He is extremely forceful and persistent.
Ira: Ira is a slacker and a loser (early 20s). He is very unprofessional and does not know what he’s doing when at work.
Jill: Jill is a timid and young girl (late teens). She is very nervous and unsure of herself. She hates confrontation and is a people pleaser.

3. Take a copy of the cold reading material. (This scene will be available on Dec. 15th)
4. Read through the materials and become familiar with the scene – IT DOES NOT NEED TO BE MEMORIZED!!
5. Come prepared to perform the scene in a small group setting – again, you will be partnered up with somebody at the auditions. If you want to audition with a particular person, have them sign up at the same time slot as you.
