Trailer needed- Region One-Acts!

We are in dire need of a trailer and driver to help our one-act competitors get to region on March 12th. Unfortunately our set will not fit under a bus carriage, so we need to find someone to help us get it to and from Highland High School on March 12th. We compete at 2pm, but could unload in at Highland in the morning if needed. I am willing to compensate. If anyone can help us, please email me at Linze.Struiksma@canyonsdistrict.org ASAP!

Region/State Challenge Round and Team Days

 Hey all!

A reminder that challenge rounds for Region/State are coming up on March 4th.  I have to have everything for competition uploaded on March 5th, so there isn't room for an extension. Below is a link to all those I cannot watch in class and then I will finalizing team that evening. I have put you at a certain time, but IF that time does not work, feel free to reach out and switch with someone - just get permission, first.  A big factor playing into my decisions WILL be eligibility.... so get your grades where they need to be by next March 4th (NO exceptions). 

Our first team day is on March 6th, so be prepared to come and work hard on your pieces and show off to your peers all you have been working on.  We will also talk about bus and time logistics that day. Please be on time at 2:45pm sharp and bring ALL costume and set pieces for team day. 

** For pantomime, costumes are ALL blacks and I would like to see that on the 6th and if possible, for challenge rounds. 

Our other team day is the 18th, the day before competition.  So put this on your radar now! 

If your name is NOT on the sheet below, prepare that I will be watching you in class on Thursday the 29th OR Monday, March 4th.

Region/State Team 2024 and Meeting Info

  Hey Team, 

A huge congrats to all who auditioned for our 2024 Region/State Team!  At this time we would like to offer everyone who auditioned a spot in the category they auditioned in this week.  There will be a challenge round the first week of March for final spots to be determined, so y'all have 7 weeks to get to work.  We are excited about what we have seen and can not wait to work more in depth with everyone on their pieces! 

Remember, we have a short 20-25 minutes meeting after school WEDNESDAY (January 31st) at 2:30pm sharp in the Green Room of the PAC.  Please be prompt and we will hustle for you to be done on time. I (Struiks) have an MFA class starting at 3pm, so we need to be quick. We will give out permission forms to all, talk about mandatory dates, and hand-out senior coaches and little assignments.  If you want to be a "little" which means, team up with a senior coach and help coach pieces, and we have not already talked, please shoot me an email by Monday Night.  I would LOVE to have you on board! See you all on Wednesday!

New Student Orientation - Mean Girls Cast Members Needed!

Hey Mean Girls Cast, 

I am in need of about 14-20 ladies to be a part of the New Student Orientation program on January 24th at 6pm.  Ainsley Cardall will be performing "Rather Be Me" and we need some people to do the dance around her and jam out for the piece.  We will find costumes from the things we have here at school or you can bring things you wore from home and it will be a fun reliving the memory moment!

You would need to be available the following:

1 - On January 18th for about 45 minutes after school to costume you and do two run-throughs of the song on the stage. If you personally have some of your costume stuff you used and could wear, please bring it for a check over and picture! 

2 - The day before the orientation (January 23rd) from 2:30-4:30pm for the dress rehearsal; full dress practice performance. 

3 - Last, be at the school at 5pm-7pm on January 24th for the performance.  I will provide doughnuts or bagels for all who help out that night!

Blue Stockings Cast!

Another HUGE thank you to everyone who shared their time and talent during callbacks today and auditions yesterday.  When I say that y'all brought it and made making decisions fun and difficult please know that I mean it!  

As you take a look at the cast list, here is reiterated information about understudies for this show:

All understudies are also cast in ensemble or supporting roles.  We will have an understudy performance night on the Thursday night show.  On Understudy Night, leads will perform their understudy's ensemble or supporting role.

We will have our first rehearsals next week on Monday and Tuesday from 2:45 - 6 pm.  All cast members are called for Monday's rehearsal.  On Monday, I will let you know who is called on Tuesday.  You will have a full rehearsal schedule before the end of break.
