42nd Street - Callback list

We'd like to thank all who auditioned! Honestly, this was the most talented group of auditioners that we have seen, and we are very proud of every person! Way to go! Not all of the characters in the show have callbacks. For this reason, check back on Saturday to see if you made the final cast list.

Below is the callback list. It includes some of the leading roles for the show, as well as a list for all students called back to be seen as dancers. Please read both lists, as you may be included on both (and perhaps even called back for one or more leads)!

You can pick up your callback material from the callboard tomorrow morning. If called back for a lead, be sure to pick up the song and scene (or scenes) for each character you are called back for. Lead callbacks will begin promptly at 3:00 p.m. in the choir room.

Dance callbacks will be held in the auditorium and will begin promptly at 5:00 p.m. We anticipate callbacks to be done with around 7:00 p.m. Please adjust your schedules for this, as needing to leave early may hurt your chances of being cast.

*A note about footwear: If you have tap shoes, bring them (if not, that's okay...seriously!!). Also, please bring either a pair of character shoes or a regular shoe that DOES NOT have a tap on it. You will be performing both tap and regular dances, so wear footwear that is comfortable for you. PLEASE do not buy any shoe just for callbacks!

Alright, here's the list...

We invite you to come see the show and enjoy the lullaby of Broadway!

Audition Information:

Audition Dates: After school on Sept. 1st and 2nd. Callbacks will be on Sept. 3rd.

We are in need of actors, singers, and dancers for this production. Audition materials will be available to be picked up in the drama room the first week of school. You are not required to prepare your own musical piece or monologue, as a selection from the score and script will be given to you when you pick up your audition materials the first week of school. Students are encouraged to learn basic tap over the summer. There are many dance studios in the valley that offer tap classes. **Please note that there are many roles that do not require tap dancing, however being able to tap may increase your chances of being cast. Please understand that taking tap over the summer does not guarantee you a role in the show. All students will need to audition and the cast will be selected at that time.

Visit http://www.tams-witmark.com/musicals/fortysecond.html#synopsis for a synopsis of the show!

Please email Julie Sauve at julie.sauve@canyonsdistrict.org if you have any questions.

42nd Street was written by David Merrick and will be produced with special permission by Tams- Witmark Music Library, Inc.

Advanced Theatre Classes

My job is very difficult, as there are many extremely talented students here and only so many spots to fill.
