State 2022 Team

 Hey Team!

I wanted to touch base about the schedule for State Rehearsals.  Those involved with Ballyhoo have already received a calendar for State from Miss Cline in email - PLEASE actors and technicians, be on top of those dates and times so we can really be successful with State!  Our plan is we will head out VERY early on April 21st for competition, so be prepared to miss school that day.

We will not begin any rehearsals until after Spring Break for IEs.  I would greatly encourage you to run your piece or your PART of your piece at least twice over break, but official rehearsal days will not take place until we return.  Days I am encouraging you to be there for IE rehearsal from 2:30-4:30pm are April 12th, 14th, and 19th.  Everyone is REQUIRED to come for day before things and out final team day from 12pm-2pm on the virtual Friday, April 22nd.   We NEED you there and there on time that day for all our announcements and final runs - please bring all props and costume pieces from home that day.

We will head to compete with IEs on Satursday, April 23rd at 7:30am SHARP.  We will have everyone there by 7:20am, load the bus, and pull out at 7:30am to head to Viewmont High School in Bountiful.  Plan to be there ALL day and get back between 4-5pm. I will have more specific details AFTER Spring Break, but don't get them until the 12th.

Let's put our whole hearts into our pieces for just a FEW more weeks and really BRING IT at State!  We can do this - have fun and get well rested over Spring Break, y'all! :)

Region 2022 Competition Numbers

Congratulations to all of you and your hard work these past few weeks!  I was very pleased to see so much growth on everyone's region piece and can't wait to keep working with you the next two weeks to get things ready for competition. Below are important date reminders AND your group numbers.  You should use these instead of your names and school in the slate - do NOT use your names and school at competition and PLEASE practice slates ahead of time.

Important Dates:

Team Days

 - 3/11 (THIS Friday)

 - 3/15 TECH CHECK - I will be checking all of your projects in class and talking over any changes that may need to occur.  Have your projects with you IN CLASS!

 - 3/16 (NEXT Wednesday- grades HAVE to be up by then; no exceptions)

 - 3/21 (in TWO weeks - the day before we compete! TECHS - come this day too so I can give you the last bit of trip info.  You will only be needed till 3pm.)

(You CAN rehearse on other days - and SHOULD.... recall I am here after school today, Wednesday and the majority of next week.  The ONLY day that's tricky next week is Thursday, so that's a no-go).  Otherwise, I can be here till 4:30pm)

Competition Date

 - 3/22:  You will be released from your last period class and report to the Green Room immediately.  We will gather our set/props & costumes, load up the bus, and then head to Orem HS.  I anticipate us to be back between 8-9pm.  You WILL need to bring dinner with you or some snacks.  They often sell pizza and things for kids, but I can't guarantee they will have that this year with Covid-rules in schools.
