Murder Mystery (2025) Audition Packet and Audition Sign-Ups!!!

 Hi everyone!

As we are getting ready to celebrate all the hard work that has gone into Hadestown with performances this week, we are ALSO gearing up for our annual Murder Mystery Improv show!

Audition packets are available on the callboard of the Little Theatre.  You can find a digital copy of the packet HERE.

Please use the QR code on the callboard or included at the end of this post to sign up for an audition time.  Please read the packet thoroughly and carefully - there's lots of important information, including what you'll need to bring to auditions.  If/when you have clarifying questions, please ask me (Cline) or Taylor Fairbourn (our fearless improv captain).

Auditions will be held in the Little Theatre on Nov. 25th with rehearsals running from Dec. 1 - 12.  There are two performances on the evening of Dec. 12: the packet provides lots more detail, but those are a couple keys dates.  If you're part of Hadestown, you will be excused from strike for your audition time and will then be required to go back to continue helping with strike.

Murder Mystery is going to be INCREDIBLE - Taylor has a FANTASTIC story and script outline that we know you'll by DYING to be a part of! :)

Tech Week Announcements- Hadestown! Please read WHOLE email!

 Hey Team!

Tomorrow begins our tech weeks and final preparation for the opening of Hadestown! I am super excited to polish and get things ready for our community. We got SO much done yesterday and I was proud of our cast and crew for their hard work. Reminder of a few things to bring this week:

  • ALL costume pieces, under-clothing and fresh socks
  • Deodorant
  • A water bottle
  • Snacks (dinners will be provided)
  • Downtime homework
  • Basic makeup for stage makeup- this is for all individuals and genders.
  • Hair needs to have it pulled out of your face and show ready!
  • Your notebooks and rubber duckies

Starting Monday, ALL costume pieces even if they belong to you, must be left there in case we need to add the temporary patches, fake dirt, or steam things.

This week we have rehearsal from 2:45-9pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. IF we might get done early, I will have students text a half hour ahead. Otherwise, please plan to pick up students AT 9pm. On Saturday we are there from 8am-2pm. I will not keep them past this time. Next week we have a similar plan, but it all depends on how this week goes.

I want to take a moment to address the importance of being on time. On Saturday 14 students were late and some more than 20 minutes. This has been an issue with this show more than any show in my 14 years of directing. We need to fix this. I am working with 85 plus schedules. If I am giving up my time to be there and on time all actors and crew need to do the same. Additionally, I have been receiving many emails about sudden conflicts during tech weeks. This is not approved and not okay with me. I understand extenuating circumstances (death in the family, extreme illness, hospitalization, etc.), but most are not this. If you miss on a day of tech it is likely you will be removed from a scene or dance. Parents, please help your student and I be successful by ensuring they are present and on time for their commitments these two weeks.

Let’s buckle down and end this strong. Cheers to a great tech week!
