Addams Family Info - Read Carefully!

 Hi everyone!

Please read through this whole post carefully - it's a LOT of information but it's all very important so read through thoroughly and carefully.

Date reminders:

10/24 - Grades due to Cline - PRINT grades out and hand them to me at the beginning of rehearsal on Monday.  Electronic grade submissions won't be accepted.  You'll owe 20 burpees for late grades.  You can print your grades in the library.

10/24 - Taking actor headshots - We will take these at the very beginning of rehearsal at 2:45.  You should plan to come to school in the hair and make-up that you want for headshots, or do you hair or make-up between 2:25-2:45.  Attendance will be taken right at 2:45.  Regarding shirts/tops for your headshot: dark, bold (preferably solid) colors work really well!  Try to avoid anything too busy or plain white.

10/25 - Hard memorization day: You will not be able to call "line" and all music, choreography, and blocking that has been taught is expected to be learned/memorized as well.

10/29 - Bring your make-up and be prepared to show me your character hair and make-up.  You should practice your hair and make-up AT LEAST twice before 10/29.  You will have no more than 30 minutes to get ready so you'll need to already have planned and practiced what you're doing.  You can also come to Saturday's rehearsal with you hair and make-up fully or partially done if that's helpful! Ruby and Kassie created awesome slides that have information about what your make-up should look like for the show as well as basic stage make-up tutorials.  EVERYONE should review this wonderful resource and follow the instructions and requirements included in the slides here: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/10XyUK9h17miazuG1lMQDfqyjgplyhFJShUqvYRnCRL0/edit?usp=sharing

10/31 - Dance "D day" - If it is clear that you don't know your choreography for a number, you may be re-positioned or removed from the number.  Please make sure that you're practicing.  Remember that you can access choreo videos here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/13uLlKjjpKSEbiEdoVewyzgcRTeuf4rXK?usp=sharing

Costume information:

Shoes - You MUST have shoes by Tuesday, 11/1 at the LATEST.  If you already have shoes or get them earlier, please go ahead and bring them so that you can start rehearsing in them.  See the breakdown below for shoes.

Ancestors - Feminine ancestor characters should have jazz booties, character shoes, or a dress-type shoes that goes with your ancestor character/costume.  The color preference is tan, brown, or gray.  If you already own black jazz booties or character then you may use those.  However, if you're purchasing shoes for the show, please purchase tan jazz booties, characters or tan/brown/gray dress shoes.  See the links below for examples of jazz booties and character shoes.  If you're purchasing, you can visit a dancewear store or search online.  Please make getting your shoes a priority!

Base Layer - This is the term for the specific undergarments that you'll wear under your costume.  For feminine actors the base layer that I always recommend is skin colored tights and a skin colored leotard.  You could also wear a skin colored bra or tank top and skin colored, black, or white compression shorts or dance shorts.  For masculine actors the base layer typically includes a white undershirt or tank top and fitted underwear such as boxer briefs or trunks.  Some actors also like to wear a dance belt and/or compression shorts.  You must bring your base layer to rehearsal on Thursday, 11/3.

You must have a make-up bag for your make-up and a costume bag for your base layer and shoes.  A costume bag can be as simple as a paper or plastic grocery bag.

Lastly, please make sure that you are checking the Remind (thank you Ariana!) EVERY day - there is lots of information that you'll be sent over the next couple weeks.

Have a wonderful break - go over your material, rest, eat your favorite foods, talk to your favorite people and I'll see you Monday.  Thank you for all of your hard work!
