Hi everyone!
I am SO excited to work on this show with you when we get back! I hope you're having a wonderful break - this post contains several reminders and some initial costume info:
1. If you've emailed about feedback I will send that your way before the end of break :)
2. Memorization reminder - You need to be 80% memorized when we come back from break. Actionable expectation for this is that you need to check on 5 lines every 10 pages. I know that some of you have a lot of lines - keep plugging away by dividing the script into different sections and tackling one section at a time (I'm actually using that technique right now to learn lines for a show too!).
3. HERE is the Google Doc with information and sample pictures that we used to go over the bios that you're making :). I will be very honest with you that I don't remember when I said these were due - so regardless of the answer I gave you in our first meeting, let's say these are no due later than Jan. 12. You are welcome to turn them in earlier but that's the due date. Please drop them off with me in my classroom - 2313.
4. There is a $40 participation fee due Jan. 12th. I will set up a folder for receipts on the callboard in the Little Theatre- please drop your receipt in that folder and make sure that your name is on it. Please wait until Jan. 7th to pay that fee so that the office ladies have time to add those fees to your Skywards when we get back from break.
5. I am working on our rehearsal calendar and should have that done by tomorrow night! Spies and Peter Pan casts, you can plan on being called pretty much every day depending on when your character is onstage - we will be starting with blocking and specific fight/movement to get the full show blocked as quickly as we can.
6. Costumes! Below are costume notes for various characters:
House & Lobby Actors and Actor/Techs - you will be in blacks since your characters are technicians; While you're welcome to any black clothing in our costume stock, you are also allowed (and encouraged) to provide your own blacks! You should be able to move, bend, lift, climb, etc comfortably in your blacks. You should also have sneakers - ideally black or a dark color but if they are lighter that should be ok. I'd love for you to create your blacks outfit based on your character that you created - so your costume should represent their personality. Is your character girly, grunge, goth, nerdy? Let us see your character through your choice of blacks!
Taylor - please provide your own black jeans and black/dark shoes (sneakers or doc marten-style)
Annie - please provide your own shoes (sneakers or doc marten-style)
All other actors playing female characters in Spies & Peter Pan casts - You will need to provide your own shoes; Sandra, you will need character shoes. I do not have a preference of style and color so if you already have a pair you are welcome to use those. If you need a pair, THESE Capezios are a great option for a pair of standard character shoes. Characters other than Sandra, you can also wear character shoes OR if you prefer flats, you can wear an Oxford style shoe like THESE - not Doc Marten style for Oxfords, though.
All actors playing male characters in Spies & Peter Pan casts - You will also need to provide your own shoes. Men's character shoes, like THESE, or dress/Oxford style, like THESE. No Doc Marten style. Note - we do have some options in our costume stock. You are welcome to look there before purchasing a pair if you don't already have something that works - please remind me when we are back that first week if you'd like to go up to look.
I will be checking my email each morning, so if you have a question about a costume piece, feel free to send me a picture and I can let you know if it will work.
Ok - that's all I have for now but I'm sure there are other items I'll communicate out this week. Until then, stay tuned for the Calendar :)
Thank you for all the time and work you've already put into this show - I appreciate you!
